Single Services
All prices are in US Dollars.

All payments are taken through WIX Payments with Stripe. You can use all your usual payment cards, and there is a set transaction fee of 3.7%. This fee has not been built into the KLS fees and will be added to your fee total. If you are an NZ resident or want to pay in Euros, you may be able to pay by direct bank transfer with no transaction fees.

A late payment fee of $50 will be added for every seven days payments are late.

Please note if English is not your first language or your writing requires a considerably heavy edit there may be extra charges for editing.
TURNAROUND TIMES
The turnaround time for each literary service is generally two weeks, depending on which service you book and your word count. Extra time may be needed for manuscripts longer than 100,000 words. Some services, such as graphics packages, may have shorter turnaround times. Package services with multiple layers of editing/proofing and graphics/formatting have an overall longer turnaround time. The spacing of services included in our packages and turnaround times will be discussed and set in your Literary Services Agreement. If revisions are allowed, these will be agreed upon before confirming each piece of work and clearly stated in your Literary Services Agreement.
RUSH FEE
If you need your work turned around quicker than the standard turnaround times, a minimum 10% rush fee will be added to your invoice. Rush fees are calculated on a case-by-case basis. If the rush fee is less than $55, a flat rate of $55 will be charged. Please discuss the deadline you are working toward with us at the time of booking. We will do our best to accommodate your needs and inform you of your project's rush fee before any work begins.
REFERRAL PROGRAM
If you refer a new author to KLS and they book and complete any of our services, you will receive a free Facebook or Instagram Graphics Package. See our Graphics Packages page for details. There is no limit to how many times you can receive the referral bonus. If you keep referring new clients, you can continue to earn the referral bonus.

Developmental or
Content Editing

Our developmental editor will closely examine the “big picture” elements of your book. These can include, but aren't limited to, plot, characters, themes, pace, structure, and tone.

You can ask specific questions, and the editor will offer options where appropriate to strengthen your manuscript.

Feedback will be given through in-line comments, and you will also receive a detailed Developmental Editing Notes report.

If you need help with rewrites, your editor can discuss this with you. A quote for this work will be given on a project-by-project basis.

The Release Sheet
You will receive a document with information to help you market your book ready for release.

If you take a Copy Edit, Line Edit, or package that includes these services, you can book this service as an add-on. ​If you take this as an add-on with The Fundamentals, The Comprehensive, or The Deluxe Comprehensive, or you have booked The Ultimate, you will receive The Release Sheet with your first-round Copy and Line edit.

A list of short and long quotes/excerpts for use for ads or teasers. These will be quoted directly from your book and have a page reference to the Word doc file of your edited manuscript. If appropriate they will be categorized into SFW and NSFW.

Coaching
Have you finished editing your book and need help working out how to get ready to release it? Or do you need support in all those other important areas that aren't writing?

Our coach can discuss release strategies, how to navigate KDP, Book Funnel, Story Origin, Wattpad, and Patreon, how to gain traction with readers/reviewers, how to ensure your website and newsletter are bringing in readers, how to manage your social media. give strategies to build your platform, and so much more.

You decide what's most important, and our coach will work with you via video call to support you so you're ready for release and/or help you maximize your reach.
​
You do not need to book any other service through KLS to take advantage of coaching.

Author Bios & Blurbs
WRITING AND EDITING

You provide us with all the important information, and our blurb writer will write a catchy blurb to entice your readers.

There is also the option for her to write your author bio.

Both of these will be fully edited before you receive them.

Brit Proofing

If your book is set in England or has British characters, our Brit Proofer will check that your dialogue and British nuances are authentic.

Alpha Reading

Our Alpha reader will read sections of your book up to 20,000 words at a time and give you honest and clear feedback, including but not limited to the plot, pace, character development, and dynamics between characters through chapter summaries. In-line comments may be given where appropriate.

You will also receive a brief summary of their feedback.

Alpha Reading can be completed on one/multiple sections of your book or your full manuscript.

You do not need to book editing or proofreading services through KLS to use this service.

Internal Formatting
E-BOOK AND PRINT

We will ensure your internal formatting is consistent and polished.

Formatting will be completed within Vellum.

Once you receive your formatted files, they will be ready to upload to retail sites.

We allow for one revision if there are any issues/kickbacks from your upload.

You will also receive the Vellum file as part of your final files if you prefer to do updates yourself.

We can update front or back matter for a small fee, which is dependent on the size of the update.
