Other Literary Services

All prices are in US Dollars. As of 1 January 2025, there will be changes to fees on selected services. Please email us for a list of the updated fees. The fees listed on the website will be updated on 29 December 2024 (US time zones).

All payments are taken through WIX Payments with Stripe. You can use all your usual payment cards and this has a set transaction fee of 3.7%. This has not been built into the KLS fees and will be added to your fee total.

​

A late payment fee of $35 will be added for every seven days payments are late.

TURNAROUND TIMES

Turnaround times vary depending on which service you are booking. These will be set in your Literary Services Agreement. 

RUSH FEE

If you need your work turned around quicker than the standard turnaround times, there will be a 10-20% rush fee added to your invoice. If the rush fee comes to less than $50, a flat rate of $50 will be charged instead. Please discuss the deadline you are working toward with us at the time of booking, we will do our best to accommodate your needs and will inform you of the rush fee for your project before any work begins.

The Release Sheet

If you book a COPY EDIT, LINE EDIT, THE FIRST ROUND edit, or THE TOTAL PACKAGE edit with us you can book this service as an add-on.

You will receive a document with information to help you market your book ready for release. If you are taking THE TOTAL PACKAGE edit you will receive THE RELEASE SHEET with your First Round Edit.


With this service you receive:

  • A list of possible tropes and selling points.

  • Up to 10 different jumping-off points for marketing your book.

  • 8 -10 major teaser quotes.

  • A list of short and long quotes/excerpts for use for ads or teasers. These will be quoted directly from your book and have a page reference to the Word doc file of your edited manuscript. If appropriate they will be categorized into SFW and NSFW.

0.0025 per word (as an add-on service)

0.003 per word (as a standalone service)

Coaching

Have you finished editing your book and need help working out how to get ready to release it? Or do you need support in all those other important areas that aren't writing?

Our coach can talk you through release strategies, how to navigate KDP, Book Funnel, Story Origin, Wattpad, and Patreon, how to gain traction with readers/reviewers, how to ensure your website and newsletter are bringing you readers, how to manage your social media. give strategies to build your platform, and so much more.

​

You decide what's most important, and our coach will work with you via video call to support you, so you're ready for release and/or help you maximize your reach.

​

You do not need to book any other service through KLS to take advantage of coaching.

Author Bios & Blurbs

WRITING AND EDITING

 

  • You give us all the important information and our blurb writer will come up with a catchy blurb to entice your readers.

  • There is also the option for her to write your author bio too.

  • Both of these will be fully edited before you receive them.

  • You don’t need to take editing and proofreading with us to book this service.

$50 for Blurbs $20 for Bios flat rate

Brit  Proofing

  • Our Brit Proofer will check that your dialogue and British nuances are authentic when your book is set in England or has British characters.

  • If you would like your book edited in a mix of British and American English, we will discuss with you how you want this to look.

  • Please note that Brit Proofing is an add-on service only and must be booked with an editing or proofreading service. 

$70 flat rate

Author Bios & Blurbs

EDITING ONLY

  • Your bio and/or blurb gets THE FIRST ROUND treatment. One round of editing at a flat rate.

  • If you are taking editing services with us, we will edit your Blurb and Bio for FREE.

$20 flat rate

Alpha Reading

  • Our Alpha reader will read sections of your book up to 20,000 words at a time and give you honest and clear feedback including but not limited to—the plot, pace, character development, and dynamics between characters through in-line comments and chapter summaries.

  • You will also receive a brief summary of their feedback.

  • This can be completed on one or multiple sections of your book.

  • You do not need to book editing or proofreading services through KLS to take advantage of this service.

$50 per 20,000 words

Internal Formatting

E-BOOK AND PRINT

  • We will ensure your internal formatting is consistent and polished. 

  • Formatting will be completed within Vellum.

  • Once you receive your formatted file, it should be ready to upload to retail sites. 

  • We allow for one revision if there are any issues/kickbacks from your upload.

  • Details regarding this process are available on request.

  • You will also receive the Vellum file as part of your final files if you prefer to do updates yourself.

  • Alternatively, updating of front or back matter can be done for a small fee. This fee will depend on the size of the update.

  • Please note fees for projects less than 50,000 words are quoted on a project-by-project basis.
